What is your thesis?
My research explores the role of public health in climate change initiatives within the mining industry in Ontario. It seeks to understand how public health could play a role in mitigating negative impact from the province’s mining industry on population and environmental health, as the industry expands with the call to supply minerals for a green energy transition. My research also explores potential barriers to public health in Ontario, contributing to climate action within the mining industry, while exploring steps to address these barriers. I hope to provide actionable recommendations for implementing policies or frameworks surrounding climate initiatives in a way that is safe and sustainable for the population, environment and the mining industry.
