SEED welcomes five co-op students in Fall term

Thursday, September 24, 2020

Five co-op students are working in the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED) this term with faculty and staff to arrange on-line social events for our students and to assist with the preparation of on-line courses.  We asked them to provide three pieces of information about themselves.

Sam Rehan

Headshot of Sam

Program: 3rd Year - Environment and Business

Position: Online Engagement Ambassador (OEA)

I look forward to learning how to best create a supportive digital environment when we are so heavily reliant on technology. I also hope to meet people and make friends from all corners of the world while connecting with them online

Fun Fact: Potpies are my biggest weakness.

Angela Lin

Headshot of Angela

Program: 3rd Year - Environmental Sciences/Ecology

Position: Senior Online Learning Assistant (SOLA)

As a SOLA, I hope to participate and submit exciting projects that would allow me to advance my skills that I have been developing through my academic and professional career. As the term progresses, virtual communication would be a skill that I hope to learn and improve more as it would become more applicable in a society that depends on technologies.

Fun Fact: One of the things on my bucket list is to go either bungee jumping or sky diving (I love the thrill!)

Daniel Gaspar

Headshot of Daniel

Program: 3rd Year - Planning

Position: Online Learning Assistant (OLA)

I hope to learn about the online learning environment as the world becomes more dependant on digital interactions, specifically how to deliver course content so it is accessible for all. I also will enjoy peeking at the readings from the courses that I am helping to deliver.

Fun Fact: I never learned how to do a kickflip despite my skateboarding phase.

Oneeb Khan

Headshot of Oneeb

Program: 3rd Year - Environment and Business.

Position: Online Learning Assistant (OLA)

Something that I'm hoping to learn from this OLA opportunity is how to effectively and efficiently teach or demonstrate a new concept to a student.

Fun Fact: my favorite TV show is The Office, and I've watched the whole show 7 times!

Dora Pripon

Headshot of Dora

Program:th Year - Planning

Position: Online Learning Assistant (OLA)

I hope to learn how to be more adaptable and resourceful, as I take on tasks I have never done before.

Fun Fact: My mom’s birthday is the day after my birthday
