Every year since its inception, the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development has hosted a major showcase event. The purpose of these events is to raise the profile of SEED, while educating the audience about important issues we believe in.
This is a tradition we hope to continue.
Towards Sustainable Partnerships: Canada's Aboriginal communities and the Resources Sector (2013)
The purpose of this symposium was to identify initiatives that could be engaged to build a more mutually beneficial relationship between Canada’s Aboriginal communities and resource-based companies. The panelists were informed that these mutually agreed upon initiatives should share at least four characteristics in common – they must be practical, meaningful, cost-effective and timely.

Dan Gagnier, Chair of the International Institute for Sustainable Development was tasked with summarizing the action items generated by the panel

Sustainable Development: Possibility or pipe dream? (2011)
Our first showcase event celebrated the launch of SEED as a new department in the Faculty of Environment.
The Hon. Elizabeth Thompson. Thompson, Executive Coordinator for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio + 20) and UN Assistant Secretary-General, addressed a capacity crowd of nearly 300 with her keynote address entitled Sustainable Development: Possibility or Pipe Dream? This address was a perspective on the progress made towards global sustainability since the 1992 UN Rio Declaration.
