Internship organization and designation: Business Retention and Expansion Officer, Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development

Roles and responsibilities: In May 2019, Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development, a non-profit organization responsible for promoting the economic prosperity of the region of Peterborough which includes the city, eight townships and two First Nation communities hired Steven as their Business Retention and Expansion Officer. As the business retention and expansion officer his roles and responsibilities are to promote the region as a place to do business. He specializes in utilizing partnerships to develop and recruit pools of talent, understand labour market needs and in doing so, creating solutions for businesses.

Whats next: Upon graduation, Steven will continue to work under the lead of the Director of Business Development at Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development to develop his skills and continue to identify, co-ordinate and facilitate the programs, networks and resources to assist and promote business in the region.
