7th Biennial Taxation Research Symposium
Current Research in Taxation
Hosted by: University of Texas at Austin and the Waterloo Centre for Taxation in a Global Economy
Sponsored by: Canadian Tax Foundation

August 28, 2026
University of Waterloo, Hagey Hall, Room 1101
Waterloo, Ontario
The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Waterloo are holding their seventh joint symposium on research in taxation. Building on the success of the previous conferences, we look forward to providing a forum for stimulating discussion of emerging research topics.
Please share this with your colleagues and doctoral students.
Topics
We encourage researchers to submit papers in all areas of research in taxation. However, on the margin, we will favor papers that have the potential either to open new research avenues to other scholars, or to affect tax policy directions, either within a specific country, or more broadly across countries. We encourage conference submissions that use empirical archival, experimental, analytical, or other methods.
Please note this is an invitation-only event.
