The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Waterloo are holding their seventh joint symposium on research in taxation. Building on the success of the previous conferences, we look forward to providing a forum for stimulating discussion of emerging research topics.

Topics
We encourage researchers to submit papers in all areas of research in taxation. However, on the margin, we will favor papers that have the potential either to open new research avenues to other scholars, or to affect tax policy directions, either within a specific country, or more broadly across countries. We encourage conference submissions that use empirical archival, experimental, analytical, or other methods.
Paper Submission Process
By May 11, 2026, papers should be submitted to this drop box in PDF format with the corresponding author’s last name at the start of the file name.
Selections will be completed by the end of June 2026. Conference invitations will be extended shortly thereafter and will include travel funding for selected doctoral students if accompanied by their advisors.
