- 1.0 BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or EARTH lab or lecture unit, inclusive of lab units completed with the chosen Year One Science Courses.
- 1.5 units of BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or EARTH, at the 200-level or higher.
- 2.0 units of BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or EARTH, at the 300-level or higher.
- 2.5 units of BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or EARTH, at the 400-level or higher.
- 1.0 unit of BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or EARTH, or Approved Courses.
- 0.5 unit from Approved Courses.
- 0.5 unit of elective courses in any discipline.
- A maximum of 2.0 failed units is permitted.

- SCBUS-labelled and SCI-labelled courses do not count as Science units and are not included in any Science average calculations.
- If you are interested in professional pathways (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc), these programs may require specific pre-requisite courses including but not limited to calculus, statistics, general, organic chemistry and/or biochemistry, introductory physics, specific biology courses, English and social sciences and/or humanities. These requirements differ between programs so please make sure to consult the admission requirements of the schools you would like to apply to and plan your courses accordingly. You should be able to use your Science Electives, Approved Courses and Elective to meet most admission requirements. Program Advisors may be able to help with course planning for these programs.
