Biography:
Chief Investment Officer of the Regents University of California Office of the President, Jagdeep Singh Bachher is responsible for managing over $118 billion across the UC Endowment, Pension, Retirement Savings, Working Capital and Insurance on behalf of the Board of Regents of the University of California. Before joining UC in March 2014, Jagdeep held the roles of Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Alberta Investment Management Corp. (AIMCo) in Alberta, Canada. From 2004 to 2009, he worked in the U.S. Wealth Management, Canadian, and Investments divisions of Manulife Financial. Jagdeep is chairman emeritus of the Institutional Investors Roundtable and received his PhD and MASc degrees in management sciences and BASc degree in mechanical engineering from University of Waterloo.
