Biography

Jennisha Wilson is the Director, Anti-Racism in the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism. She leads a team of experts working towards ensuring that the University's programs and initiatives are inclusive and equitable for all, by grounding the work in an intersectional and trauma-informed lens. Prior to this role, she was the Senior Manager, Anti-Racism Response at Waterloo.  

Before joining the University, Jennisha had a longstanding career with the City of Toronto and is the Founder and Project Coordinator for Cultivating Herstory: The Jane and Finch Food, Youth and Health Project.  

She has received numerous honours and awards including: the Adrienne Pocock Memorial Award (York University), multiple Ontario Graduate Scholarships, Hina Feldberg Honor’s Prize (York University), and a York University Graduate Scholarship.

Jennisha completed an Honours BA in International Development Studies, Health and Society, a Certificate in Refugee and Migration Studies, and a Masters of Environmental Studies, all from York University.
