To celebrate Pride Month, the Stratford School has compiled a list of resources/events that are happening around the Waterloo and Stratford and area community.

The Future-Ready Workforce Series: Building inclusive workplaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ students
June 5 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM
Location: Online

Join the Work-Learn Institute (WxL) in exploring how employers can foster workplace inclusion for Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (2SLGBTQIA+) co-op students.

GLOW GROW
June 5 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM
Location: Glow Centre

Every other Wednesday Glow in partnership with Campus Wellness, Counselling Services will have mental health therapist and educator Washington Silk (They/Them) come for a visit. This a flexible time where you can come chill, ask questions, submit topic requests (formally and informally), AMA, do creative things, supportive things for mental wellness as individual or as a community, and to just generally be together. 

Pride Movie Night in Cadzow Park
June 7 from 7:00 PM
Location: Cadzow Park

The St. Marys Public Library and St. Marys Pride present Pride Movie Night in Cadzow Park! They will be screening Barbie. Come before the movie and enjoy lawn games, popcorn, music, and cotton candy! Remember to bring your own chair or blanket). Free popcorn will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Donations are accepted and appreciated.

North Perth Family Pride Day

Location: Kin Station

Come and celebrate pride with free activities the whole family can enjoy. Don’t miss out on drag storytime, face painting, dunk tank, crafts, outdoor games, snacks and much more! Join in the fun at Kin Station.

Pride Trivia Night
June 12 from 6:30 - 9:30 PM
Location: Jobsite Brewery

Join Stratford-Perth Pride and the Rotaract Club of Stratford as they host a Pride-themed trivia night with proceeds supporting Rainbow Railroad.

A Trauma Informed Lunch and Learn: Supporting the campus communities on the 1 year anniversary of June 28th
June 19 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Location: In-person, location will be sent to registered participants

Hosted by the Counselling Services 2SLGBTQIA+ Peer Supervisions and Support Group, this session is led by mental health professionals to help staff and students better support those affected by the incident on June 28th.

Queer Film Series - Pride
June 20 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Join the Faculty of Math for their Queer Film Series featuring the movie Pride. Pride is based on a true story about a group of gay and lesbian activists who rally to support the miner's strike in the UK in the 1980s. Normally, movies about mining strikes are not exactly uplifting or heart-warming but this one is!

Queer Art Coffeehouse
June 21 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Location: Livery Yard

The Generation Rainbow Collective Youth Program presents Queer Art Coffeehouse. Proceeds from this event will support future 2SLGBTQ+ youth programming in Stratford.
