What is MDEI?

The Master of Digital Experience Innovation (MDEI) unlocks your capabilities in a changing world of digital media.

MDEI focuses on developing your skills in the areas of team dynamics, project management, and leadership. The program will provide you with the essential technical skills of digital production and implementation. However, this is not the primary focus. These skills are taught to better equip you as a team leader, giving you the language and concepts to communicate with your team effectively.

Students can complete MDEI in 8 months on a full-time basis, or take the 20-month part-time option designed for working professionals.

Program Features

In MDEI, you’ll explore new forms of design innovation that emerge through the intersections of creativity, technology, and business. We focus on your development as a creative leader, with a strong focus on:

At the Stratford School, we deliver customized student services including academic advising, personal counselling, technical design workshops and professional development sessions each term. We also host a range of guest lectures, speaker series, and workshops that you are welcome to attend.

Also included with your tuition is access to the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities at the Stratford School which provide you with everything needed for your classes and projects. As a University of Waterloo student, you also have full access to the resources and facilities available at the Waterloo Campus in Waterloo, Ontario.

Although all of your course content is delivered online, we encourage you to visit Stratford and experience this vibrant, creative community. Stratford is home to the world-renowned Stratford Festival and a growing digital media and technology industry.
