Mandel, the digital media lab instructor at the University of Waterloo Stratford campus, teamed up with library staff to create the Code-A-Character program. It blends print and digital – participants between the ages of 11 and 18 pick a character from a book and make it come to life visually.
“It was a great idea,” said Sally Hengeveld, the children and teen collections and outreach librarian. “Very successful.”
