OSAP & government aid

Students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons may be eligible to apply for financial aid through their provincial government. In Ontario, this is the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

The types of funding available include loans, grants and bursaries. The amount of each type of funding is determined by the province and is based on many factors including, but not limited to:

  • your educational costs
  • your income and assets
  • your family income (e.g. parents or spouse)
  • family size

All government aid programs, including OSAP, are intended to supplement a student’s financial resources and expected contributions.

Allowable costs less expected contribution equals remaining financial need.

Anticipated Aid for your Promissory Note

OSAP, award and scholarship amounts will be posted as Anticipated Aid on your Quest account each term. Fall 2020 full-time OSAP funding will be added as anticipated aid on Quest accounts starting August 5 and will continue to be updated throughout the Promissory Note period.

Full-time OSAP 

  • Documentation received the week of Oct 19
  • Appeals received the week of Sept 28
  • Winter extensions received the week of Oct 19

Full-time Bursary

  • Applications received to date are currently being reviewed
  • Decision emails will be sent out early November
