This July 2022, the University's Centre for Career Action participated in the a department tailored offering of the Sustainability Certificate!
The Sustainability Office is offering an updated version of the Sustainability Certificate with virtual classes to both staff and faculty. Those interested in taking the course and participating in discussions can sign up through Workday. Topics covered within the Sustainability Certificate will discuss Climate Change, Biodiversity, Sustainable Consumption and Sustainable Travel.

Waterloo’s sixth annual Eco Summit took place on November 20, coinciding with the release of the 2019 Environmental Sustainability Report. The theme, Building Hope, was interwoven with the goals of the Summit to connect with others, celebrate our progress and be inspired to go further.
During the Week of October 16th – October 20th, the University of Waterloo partnered with the Sustainability Office and participated in its first ever Zero Waste Week as part of the national Waste Reduction Week campaign.

Each year, Waterloo publishes a summary of the actions that students, staff and faculty have taken across campus to reduce our environmental impact. From new research projects to student events to ongoing changes to policy and practice, it is inspiring to see the dedication and involvement of so many people in our University community.
The fourth annual Eco-Summit took place on Wednesday, July 12th at St. Paul's Alumni Hall to celebrate progress, create ideas, and build relationships with campus sustainability champions and community members.
From March 30th until April 21st, the Office of Sustainability hosted the Green Office Energy Challenge for all green offices across campus to participate.
Over the last year, the University has been piloting a Green Office program to help departments inject a little green into their black and gold.
