November 26, 2025 marked the Sustainability Office's 12th annual Eco Summit, where the 2025 Sustainability Report was launched, green program awards were handed out, and students and staff shared how they contribute to a sustainable campus.
November 25, 2024 marked the Sustainability Office's annual Eco Summit, where the 2024 Sustainability Report was launched, green program awards were handed out, and students and staff shared how they contribute to a sustainable campus.
In the month of May, the Sustainability Office held three tree planting events. Over 150 trees were planted by the Village 1 Healing Forest and around 100 trees were planted on North Campus, adding to tree planting efforts from 2023. Ten large trees were also planted at East Campus and UW Place, bringing more greenery to the urban interior of campus.
On Earth Day, the Sustainability Office held its annual Campus Clean-up. Over 120 employees and students attended, collecting nearly 50 bags of litter.
In honour of Earth Day, the Sustainability Office hosted their annual campus clean-up event on April 21. More than 100 employees and students helped to pick up litter from “hotspots” around main campus, collecting over 80 bags of trash.
The Sustainability Action Fund has granted funding to eight new projects in winter 2023. Led by staff, faculty, and students, these initiatives will support campus biodiversity and strengthen the integration of sustainability into work and campus life.
On November 23rd, more than 110 people joined us at Fed Hall for an afternoon of celebration, networking, and community building at our 9th annual Eco Summit. The theme of this year’s Eco Summit was ‘What Can We Do’, placing the focus on how we can work together towards sustainability.
