Abstract

In this study, we analyzed controller preference for piloting VTOL aircraft within a Unity simulation using a VR headset. Participants were given three different controllers: a steering wheel, joystick, and drone controller. They performed tasks such as take-off, hovering, turns, and landing under high wind conditions. Performance was evaluated using the NASA-TLX questionnaire and Unity metadata. Additionally, EEG data were collected to assess mental workload associated with each control method. During this seminar, we will present our approach, explain the experimental setup, discuss our findings, and explore potential hypotheses based on the results
