UW Fitness is comprised of experienced exercise specialists dedicated to providing quality fitness services in a relaxed and private environment.

Based in the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, UW Fitness leverages research and teaching expertise of one of the world’s leading Kinesiology departments to offer specialized services.

Whether you are a recreational exerciser or a high performance athlete wanting a fitness appraisal or personal training, an individual being treated for cancer and want to participate in UW WELL-FIT or UW LIVING-FIT, a teen battling excess weight who wants to get active with Teens In Motion, or someone who requires supervised cardiac rehabilitation like Hardy Hearts, you will benefit from the quality services offered by our certified professionals.

For students interested in gaining valuable hands-on experience in exercise management, we offer volunteer opportunities as well as workshops and education.

Nordic Pole Walking Instruction

UW Fitness is now offering a Nordic Pole Walking Instruction program! Want to know what Nordic Pole Walking is?  Read the article below about it and the benefits it provides.  In this 4 week program, you will have the opportunity to work with an instructor to learn and adapt the proper technique so that you can optimize your fitness.  Poles will be provided to participants at the weekly sessions.   

The sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 12-12:45 from June 21 – July 12.  The cost of the session is $50 (price include HST).  To register, email fitness@uwaterloo.ca or call 519-888-4567 ext 36841.
