UW Fitness is comprised of experienced exercise specialists dedicated to providing quality fitness services in a relaxed and private environment.

Based in the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, UW Fitness leverages research and teaching expertise of one of the world’s leading Kinesiology departments to offer specialized services.

Whether you are a recreational exerciser or a high performance athlete wanting a fitness appraisal or personal training, an individual being treated for cancer and want to participate in UW WELL-FIT or UW LIVING-FIT, a teen battling excess weight who wants to get active with Teens In Motion, or someone who requires supervised cardiac rehabilitation like Hardy Hearts, you will benefit from the quality services offered by our certified professionals.

For students interested in gaining valuable hands-on experience in exercise management, we offer volunteer opportunities as well as workshops and education.

Specialized Once Weekly Programs

UW Fitness is offering several specialized once weekly programs for staff and faculty including:

  • Power in Pairs: Partner Resistance Training **NEW
  • Level II Core Training **NEW
  • Cycle and Sculpt
  • Cardio Kickstart
  • Learn TRX Suspension Training
  • Fast and Effective Home Workouts
  • Learn Effective Core Training
  • Learn to Exercise with the Stability Ball
  • HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training

These once weekly programs run during the lunch hour on specific days of the week for four to eight consecutive weeks. Thanks to funding from UW Staff Association's Staff Excellence Fund, UW Staff receive a 50% discount on these and other fitness sessions! Find out more.
