- Purpose: Indicate the number of times a student can self-enrol into the course

Allow Multiple Enrol in a Term
- Purpose: Indicate whether the student can self-enrol into more than one section of the course in a given term.
- Does it appear in the academic calendar: Yes
- Type of field: Choice selection = Yes, No
Topic courses
A course is a “topics course” if an academic unit offers different content under a single course code and number (e.g., PACS301) and is generally identified by having "topics" in the title (but this may not always be the case).
Topic titles
Topic titles are added during the scheduling process for use in Quest Class Search and do not require approval to be created. Topic titles will also appear on a student’s transcript; they do not appear in the course listings of the academic calendars. A topic title can only be added to a course that has been approved to be repeatable.
Repeatable courses
- When a course is deemed to be repeatable, this means a student can take the same course multiple times or can enrol in multiple sections of one course simultaneously, normally subject to different content.
- Not to be confused with allowing a student to repeat a failed course or - on a case-by-case basis - to repeat a passed course (e.g., needing to achieve a higher grade).
- A course set up as repeatable is automatically considered a topics course.
- The Undergraduate Studies Academic Calendar automatically stipulates that the course is repeatable "subject to different content" (e.g., ENVE497) thus this type of constraint does not need to be added to a course's description or notes.
- Depending on the nature of the repeatable course, it may make sense to allow a student to enrol in multiple sections per term, or not.
- At the undergraduate level, the limit is 10 enrolments; topic courses are often for upper-level courses, and the number chosen should reflect the reality of a student's journey and ability to repeat the same course.
