Joud Abu Farah posting with best poster award at Toronto's Wastewater Surveillance Conference

Congratulations to Joud Abu Farah, Master of Science (MSc) Biology Candidate and part of the Servos Research Group, for winning the Best Poster Award at Toronto's Wastewater Surveillance Conference!

The in-person and virtual conference on recent scientific advancements in wastewater surveillance was held February 2-3 in Toronto, organized jointly by Ontario's Wastewater Surveillance Initiative and Toronto Metropolitan University.

The poster entitled “Method development of wastewater surveillance of influenza (A,B) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)” assesses the capability of monitoring influenza and RSV in wastewater using similar methodology applied in the SARS-CoV-2 surveillance program and tests its potential as a complementary public health surveillance tool.
