Future students

ABSTRACT: The field of adsorption has continued to advance rapidly in recent years. Advances in both fundamental and applied research have been truly remarkable. As some aspects have approached maturity, research in related areas has been initiated.

Congratulations to Yung Priscilla Lai, Kyung Eun Sun and Hiroki Takamura on winning the 2nd place poster presentation (capstone design project) for designing an undergraduate food processing laboratory for the University of Waterloo, held at the 4th annual Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA) Conference in  Montreal, QC on June 17-20, 2013.  

This national individual award, sponsored by GreenCentre Canada, is for an individual working in Canada who has made significant contributions to advance green chemistry and/or engineering, including the technical, human health and environmental benefits. From the award announcement:

Abstract: The North American Oil & Gas industry is going through a phase of profound change that has significant implications for Canada with respect to the economy, the workforce. In the first half of my talk will cover the ways in which the industry at large is reacting to these changes, as well as possible implications for further development of the oil sands reserves in Canada and supporting research and development activities.
