When Chemical Engineering hosted its departmental heat of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on February 8th, the room was packed with audience members keen to learn more about our research-based masters and doctoral students’ exciting investigations. Eleven graduate students took turns presenting the high points of the research they have spent years conducting – using one static PowerPoint slide, language that could be understood by the general public…and within only three minutes.

Green Sorbs wins Ontario Engineering Competition
Congratulations to fourth-year chemical engineering students Jack Anderson, Skylar Bone, Olsi Goxhaj and Kien Tran. Their Capstone Design team, Green Sorbs, won first prize in the Ontario Engineering Competition, which was held at the University of Ottawa in January.
Peter Lewis Silveston Passes Away At Age 86
PETER LEWIS SILVESTON was 86 when passed away peacefully in Charleston, S.C on Sunday, January 7th, 2018. He was surrounded by his children, Rachel, Rebecca and Matthew. Peter was born on March 10th, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, and was an only child.
