The Tsinghua-Waterloo Joint Forum on Advances in Energy and Environmental Technologies will bring together leading experts in the fields of sustainable energy management, novel energy production, biofuels, pollution mitigation, fuel cells, and next-generation rechargeable energy systems.

You are welcome to attend the oral defence portion of Xuezhen Wang's PhD comprehensive exam, in which they will discuss their research under supervisor Professor Xianshe Feng.

You are welcome to attend the oral defence portion of Maiwen Zhang's PhD comprehensive exam, in which they will discuss their research under supervisor Professor Aiping Yu.

Guanjie Sun will discuss their research related to using greenhouse gases to produce renewable synthetic fuels and chemicals in a closed MASc oral exam.  

Please join the Department of Chemical Engineering on Friday, August 2, for a seminar by Dr. Yaser Abu-Lebdeh, Senior Research Officer at National Research Council of Canada (NRC). He will give an overview of the NRC’s battery technology research activities.

You are welcome to attend Sungo Park's final PhD defense, in which he will discuss his research into developing a technology to characterize and process environmentally friendly materials using starch as co-polymer and nano-filler. The research aimed to extend the range of properties of starch materials while maintaining environmental benefits and competitive physical properties for applications such as packaging and agriculture.
