The International Food Policy course run by Prof. Jennifer Clapp had students doing an intensive but high level series of classes and meetings. Congratulations to 1st year, Environment, Resources and Sustainability student, Ekaterina Huszka for receiving the Beingessner Award for Excellence in Writing. This award is part of the National Farmers Union Youth's Campaign for New Farmers and is given to the authors of the best 500-1000 word essay on agriculture and food issues in Canada. The theme of this year's essay was "Soil: Our Common Ground".
