We are proud to welcome Dr. Denis Aheto as the TD Walter Bean Professor in Environment for 2024. From March 4 to 8, Dr. Aheto will be visiting the Faculty of Environment to meet with students and faculty. He will also deliver two lectures on Africa's Plastic Revolution. The Faculty of Environment proudly welcomes Amanda St. Marie as the new Environment Indigenous Initiatives Manager. With a career spanning over a decade in marketing and communications across a variety of sectors including insurance, technology, and higher education, Amanda St. Marie is poised to assist the Faculty in creating their Indigenous Strategic Action Plan based on its commitment to truth and reconciliation. 

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Scott who has been named on Clarivate's annual Highly Cited Researchers™ 2023 list recognizing influential scientists and social scientists worldwide who have made significant contributions to their fields.

We are pleased to announce five new appointments to the Faculty of Environment’s academic and administrative leadership: Dr. Chris Fletcher, chair in the department of Geography and Environmental Management (GEM), Dr. Katie Plaisance, chair in the Department of Knowledge Integration (KI), Dr. Mark Seasons, chair in the School of Planning, Dr. Derek Armitage, director in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability (SERS) and Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, director in the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development.

Congratulations to Professor Simron Singh who has been awarded a University Research Chair (URC) in recognition of his significant contributions as an industrial ecologist in the area of socio-metabolic research on small islands.
