Erin Murray

Erin Murray is an advocate for both environmental sustainability and mental health. In addition to her work supporting biodiversity with the Canadian Wildlife Services, Erin recently published her second book, a poetry collection called Courageous Conversations, an ode to mental illness that aims to remove the stigma surrounding mental health.  

Join Erin for a candid conversation on navigating stress as a professional and as a student. Erin will also answer questions about biodiversity offsetting and No Net Loss, getting involved in your workplace beyond the day to day, and advocating for your own mental health personally and in the workplace.

Erin Murray (BES 2021, ENBUS)

Project Coordinator, Canadian Wildlife Services

Erin Murray has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a diploma in Environmental Assessment from the University of Waterloo. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Ottawa pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability. Erin has conducted research across a wide breadth of sustainability issues such as supply side climate policy, sectoral climate agreements and climate risk related to investments. In her current role with Canadian Wildlife Services, Impact Assessment Program she supports the Whole of Government Approach for conserving Boreal Caribou, facilitates processes to improve internal governance and decision-making, and supports priority files. Her current research is focused on the feasibility of a National Framework for biodiversity offsetting in the context of Impact Assessment. Erin is also an advocate for mental health and has two published poetry books dedicated to removing the stigma around living with mental illness.
