The GSEF has announced the Spring 2010 winners for project funding!​

Initially, 21 applications were received requesting approximately $80,000-$90,000. At the first review meeting, 12 were rejected, bringing down the requested funds to approximately $50,000-60,000. We discussed the various projects and what additional information was required to decide how to allocate the funds. Over the next few weeks, we compiled additional details (checking other funding situations, asking projects from a single department to be rank ordered, etc) and disseminated this information electronically. We met for a second time and decided on the fund allocations, with one project being rejected at this stage (their application was good and had departmental support, but some details still needed to be worked out so we recommended they reapply next term). We then discussed the applications, and arrived at the final totals seen above. In some cases, the final amount award was less than the amount originally applied for (example reasons: receiving funding from departments, some aspects deemed less crucial to the project than others, etc).
