Join alum Tomas Jochym-O’Connor, PhD ’16, as he shares his career journey and talks about current research.
Tomas Jochym-O'Connor is a research staff member in the quantum information theory team at IBM Quantum. Prior to joining IBM, Tomas earned his PhD studying with Raymond Laflamme at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) and the University of Waterloo. Upon completing his graduate studies, Tomas was a Sherman Fairchild Fellow of the Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics and member of the Institute for Quantum Information & Matter at the California Institute of Technology. His research focuses mainly on the theory of quantum error correction and fault tolerance.
The IQC Alum Lecture Series welcomes past students to share what they’ve been up to, highlighting career paths and quantum research.
