Lucien Hardy: The third quantum foundations revolution

Abstract

In the last decade or so quantum foundations has been going through something of a revolution. This has been driven by an influx of ideas from quantum information, the foundations of computer science, and causality. In the first part of this talk I will discuss this ongoing revolution in which researchers at PI have been very involved. In the second I will focus on my own recent work on reformulating and reconstructing quantum theory (arXiv:1104.2066). The ideas of this third revolution are likely to be of interest to people working in quantum information.
