Quantum Today: Bridging Quantum Thermodynamics Theory to Experiment

Wednesday, April 20, 2022 12:00 pm - 12:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Join us for Quantum Today, where we sit down with researchers from the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) to talk about their work, its impact and where their research may lead.

IQC PhD candidate Shayan Majidy will discuss his recent collaboration with Nicole Yunger Halpern from the University of Maryland, where they developed a procedure to translate ideas about quantum thermodynamics from abstract theory into the language of experimental physics. Learn more about quantum thermodynamics and building bridges between theory and experiment in this conversation moderated by John Donohue, Senior Manager, Scientific Outreach.

Read more from IQC about their result, recently published in npj Quantum Information, How to build Hamiltonians that transport noncommuting charges in quantum thermodynamics.
