Quantum researchers interview series

Quantum research in 2013

The summer of 2013 brought several visitors to the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) to attend the Decoherence & Friends conference and QCrypt 2013. We took the opportunity to learn about their research. You can also view the Quantum researchers interview playlist on YouTube.

Starting in October, 2013 we started releasing one video each week.

Scott Aaronson is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT). He is also a former postdoctoral fellow from IQC.

Nicolas Gisin on the applications of quantum physics

Nicolas Gisin is a co-founder of ID Quantique and a member of the Group of Applied Physics at Geneva University.

Jane E. Nordholt on secure communications and smart grids

Jane E. Nordholt is a researcher at the Los Alamos National Lab.

David Poulin on error correction and fault tolerance

David Poulin is an associate professor at the Université de Sherbrooke. He is also an IQC alumnus.

Anne Broadbent on new levels of security for communication and computation

Anne Broadbent is an IQC postdoctoral fellow.

Jane E. Nordholt on her work in quantum cryptography

David Wineland on controlling quantum systems
