    A graduate student from Libya was recognized by a national organization this week for his academic achievements at Waterloo Engineering and volunteer work in the broader community.

  2. Nov. 2, 2016Waterloo hosts guests from Chinese Consulate General in Toronto

    University of Waterloo leaders were delighted to host a delegation from the Chinese Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto.

    The visit on Wednesday included an introduction to the Institute for Quantum Computing and a tour of the Quantum-Nano Centre. The visit was helpful in supporting joint research collaborations with Chinese institutions, facilitating faculty and student exchanges, as well as strengthening the relationship between Waterloo and China.

  3. Oct. 14, 2016Waterloo hosts leaders from National University of Singapore

    The University of Waterloo had the privilege of hosting the president of the National University of Singapore (NUS) on Friday, October 14.

    Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, NUS president, was joined by Professor Ashraf Kassim, vice provost of NUS, and Koh Li Ling, associate director, global education, in the International Relations Office at NUS.

    They met with leaders in Waterloo’s co-op and cybersecurity programs, as well as the Water Institute to learn more about these initiatives. Meetings at the Institute for Quantum Computing and Velocity also included a tour.
