The University of Waterloo and the University of Warwick Collaborate on Esports

Representatives from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and the University of Warwick (United Kingdom) are exploring ways in which each of their burgeoning esports activities can be enriched by trans-Atlantic international collaboration.

Waterloo and Warwick have been long-standing international partners, with successful research collaborations, student exchanges, and a joint academic programme.

Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) Leads Actions to Advance United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)

The University of Waterloo’s Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is, with a number of its international partners, leading action on ways in which nanotechnology expertise in higher education can advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). These actions have been primarily identified as the development of talent, the advancement of research for global impact, and the promotion of sustainable and diverse communities.

Waterloo Invited to Share Experiences on Virtual Stage in Indonesia

On 26 January 2022, Prof. Ian Rowlands – associate vice-president, international – participated in the Government of Indonesia’s Kick-off Meeting of IISMA Partnership Week. Invited as one of four presenters from amongst the Government of Indonesia’s approximately 75 global partners, Prof. Rowlands shared Waterloo’s experience in hosting 30 IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) students during the Fall 2021 term. More than 200 individuals – from across Indonesia and around the world – attended the two-hour virtual meeting.
