Instructions for transfer students

Transferring from another institution

If you’re transferring to the University of Waterloo from another university, you may need to change the fall-term schedule that has been prearranged for you depending on the transfer credits you are awarded. Contact one of your academic advisors for assistance with choosing your courses and updating your fall schedule.

If you were expecting transfer credits and did not receive a Transfer Credit Letter, then the assessment of your transfer credits may have been delayed. It’s likely that we need more information about your past coursework to make a final assessment. For information about the status of your transfer credit evaluation, contact one of your academic advisors.

TRANSFER ORIENTATION

Transferring from another program at Waterloo

Prior to your first term, you'll be sent an individual course sequence via email. It's important that you follow this sequence to complete your degree requirements. You'll be required to select both your required and elective courses using Quest. If you need assistance, please contact one of your academic advisors.

Admitted to Kinesiology co-op and have been granted transfer credits

Please contact one of your academic advisors to determine your academic and work term sequencing.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
