We support our academic library colleagues

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has issued a statement opposing Trump's immigration order. As a member of the ARL, and an institution dedicated to the principle of academic freedom, the University of Waterloo Library would like to express support for this statement, and for our colleagues in all nations affected by the current immigration ban.

Annie Bélanger heading to Grand Valley State

Annie Bélanger, a member of the Acting University Librarian Team, will be joining the Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan as its Dean of University Libraries, according to a memo sent by Vice-President, Academic & Provost Ian Orchard to Executive Council.

Open Access science journal waives fees

Canadian Science Publishing has launched Canada's first multidisciplinary open access science journal, Facets. This peer-reviewed ejournal publishes on a continuous basis and focuses on: biological and life sciences, biomedical and health sciences, earth and environmental sciences, engineering, technology, mathematics, integrative sciences and physical sciences.
