This course introduces fundamental concepts in probability, descriptive statistics and statistical inference. It is intended for students with no or little prior knowledge of the subject, aiming to familiarize them with the theoretical concepts of probability and statistics and to equip them with basic statistical tools to tackle engineering problems. This introductory course lays the foundation for more advanced courses in statistics, data analytics, stochastic processes and quality control.
