A management engineering student who worked at Tesla during the winter term in 2021 has been recognized with an honorable mention in the annual Co-op Student of the Year Awards at the University of Waterloo.
Nimisha Saxena, who is in her fourth year, worked as a technical program manager intern at the electric automaker, assisting with the development of a third-party risk management (TPRM) program.
She also launched TPRM assessments, evaluated and updated Tesla’s information security policies, built out an information risk board, and built team project boards for vulnerability management, incident detection and response teams.
Honorable mentions from each faculty at Waterloo were recently named in advance of the announcement of co-op winners at a March 21 ceremony.
Organized by Waterloo’s Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) unit, the awards recognize students for outstanding contributions to their employers during work terms.
“Each student has made a valuable contribution and long-lasting impression with their employer and helped future-proof themselves for continual success in the future,” said Ross Johnston, the executive director of co-operative education at Waterloo.
