Prof. Houra Mahmoudzadeh recognized for teaching excellence

Prof. Houra Mahmoudzadeh from the Department of Management Science and Engineering was recently recognized with the Faculty of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award. The award recognizes a continued record of excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Prof. Mahmoudzadeh was recognized for her exceptional dedication to student learning and pedagogical innovation. Her innovative approach to teaching, including the use of hands-on games and the Kahoot app, has significantly enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes. Her dedication to student mentorship is equally impressive, leading to numerous prestigious student awards at national and international competitions.

Prof. Mahmoudzadeh's contributions to teaching leadership extend beyond the classroom. She has served as the chair of the student committee on the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS) council, advocating for student leaders in the Operations Research community. Her initiatives, such as the CORS Student Leadership Award and the CORS Student Chapter Recognitions, have had a lasting impact on the society and its members.
