Stan Dimitrov, PEng, PhD
Biography
Stan Dimitrov is a Professor in Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo.
His research primarily focuses on the interface of operations research and information systems. Specifically speaking, Professor Dimitrov is interested in sustainable operations management, business data analytics, the ciruclar economy, mechanism design, game theory, nonlinear optimization, and measuring the impact of artificial intelligence (AI). He is interested in addressing problems in industry related to circular economy, AI, pricing, process improvement, and customer relationship management. He has received funding from NSERC, SSHRC, Mitacs, and the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Dimitrov advances applied research through the Business Data Analytics Lab, which partners with organizations on analytics projects and supports student training on industry-relevant problems. Through these partnerships, the lab helps translate research into tools and evidence that can support operational improvement, AI deployment, and sustainability reporting in practice.
