Shelley Vossen, undergraduate advisor/co-ordinator in the Department of Management Sciences, was the recepient of a 2022 Faculty of Engineering Outstanding Staff Performance Award. The award recognizes staff who make outstanding contributions to the learning and working environment in the Faculty of Engineering.
In their nomination, Shelley's colleagues praise Shelley's dedication and talent to support undergraduate studies, citing her work as critical to the Management Engineering program and the Management Sciences Option. They describe her as highly knowledgeable, extremely organized, hard-working, and approacheable in all her interactions with students, faculty, and staff (inside and outside the department).
As one colleague put it:
"Perhaps the greatest quality one can earn is trust. Shelley has mine. With Shelley there is secure knowledge and comfort that all duties will be performed to the highest calibre and with a level of integrity that cannot help but be a positive example to all. The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples.
