The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) has launched a new seminar series, Quantum Nano Collision (QNC) Seminar Series, to deepen the engagement of the Waterloo researchers who work at the interface of quantum and nanotechnologies. This seminar series will also provide opportunities for senior graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and research associates to present their innovative work along with the faculty members to bring together the excitement around these cutting-edge technologies that would shape our future.

The next talk for the QNC Seminar Series will be delivered by Professor Kevin Musselman.

All students are invited to meet prominent women in nanotechnology to hear about their history, exciting research, and how they chose their successful career paths. This seminar will provide valuable information to all students, particularly female students, who may be interested in graduate work and careers in S&T but do not know what avenues are open to them.

Information Session on How to Prepare a Successful Application: An information session on the WIN Nanofellowship Award will be held immediately after, designed to help with questions about the application procedure and other details related to the scholarship.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) has four main thematic research areas; Smart and Function Materials, Connected Devices, Next Generation Energy Systems and Therapeutics and Theranostics. To showcase the work going on within these areas, we will be holding monthly WIN Thematic Seminars featuring our members and their research group members.

For the second event in the series, Professor Vassili Karanassios from the Connected Devices theme will be giving a seminar on "Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Spectral Interference Correction in optical emission spectrometry and of Machine Learning for development of nano-materials for sustainable energy"

Join Peter Carr, continuing lecturer at the University of Waterloo, to learn more about this eight–week program developed in partnership with the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) and the Faculty of Engineering.
