Degree Requirements
Students must complete the degree requirements of the general MEng program which requires satisfactory completion of eight one-term graduate level courses, one communications course, and the Academic Integrity Quiz. To add the Graduate Diploma in Fire Safety,eight graduate level courses must include the three mandatory courses and three specific courses.

Fire Safety Courses
All core and elective Fire Safety Engineering courses are currently being delivered in an intense, week-long (40 hours) lecture/laboratory format. Students join professors on-campus in Waterloo or remotely through our LiveLink system for a solid week of lectures in the term before officially registering for the course.
Assignments, projects and other graded course work are then due over the subsequent term, usually a 4-6 month period following the week of lectures.
