First-year mechatronics student a Schulich Leader for 2025

100 high school students across Canada are awarded scholarships that recognize strong potential in entrepreneurship, engineering, science, and technology. Each scholarship ranges between $100,000 and $120,000 to help students pursue their academic goals. This year, one of our own first-year students in MME is being recognized.

We are pleased that Hilary Pang, a first-year mechatronics student, has been selected as a Schulich Leader. She hopes to launch a prosthetics startup that utilizes AI and smarter engineering to make mobility more accessible. She chose the University of Waterloo because of its direct-entry mechatronics program, which enables her to quickly dive into robotics and smart technology.

Learn more about Hilary’s accomplishments and see the other students that made the list in Meet Waterloo’s 10 new Schulich Leaders in Waterloo News.
