Mechanical Engineering, along with two other subjects improved its standing in world rankings released today by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) for 2022.
The faculty was rated 33rd globally in electrical engineering, 49th in mechanical engineering and 75th in chemical engineering, all improvements on the 2021 results released by the influential United Kingdom company.
Waterloo also maintained a place in the top 50 in the broad category of engineering and technology, landing in 49th spot based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations and research impact in a field of more than 1,300 universities.
Civil engineering at Waterloo was ranked between 51 and 100, while architecture landed in the 101-150 band.
Other engineering disciplines at Waterloo weren’t among the 51 subjects ranked by QS along with five broad subject areas.
