MME alum company, Rotostitch, raises $1 million in funding

Friday, March 13, 2026

Rotostitch, founded in 2025, is striving to make a sustainable impact on the apparel industry with garment construction. The company was co-founded by Waterloo Engineering alum Leah McClure (BASc ’24, mechanical engineering) and Anson Tsang.

Rotostitch just announced that they raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round. This funding will help them make big steps toward their goal of making garment construction more sustainable and effective through fully automated, flexible manufacturing systems. This advancement would speed up traditional supply chains, allowing for quicker production with less waste.

As Rotostitch CEO Leah McClure explained in a recent press release, “This round enables us to bring our vision of smart, agile textile production into reality. With the backing of forward-thinking investors, we're ready to revolutionize how apparel is made by reducing waste, increasing speed and giving brands a competitive edge.”

This round of funding was led by Boost VC and Nova Threshold, along with support from Princeton University’s Princeton Student Ventures.
