MME professor named to the Highly Cited Researchers™ 2025 list

Friday, November 14, 2025

Each year, Clarivate publishes its Highly Cited Researchers™ 2025 list, which ranks the world’s top researchers and scientists in the top 1%. This is done by the number of citations researchers have in any given year.

In 2025, Dr. Roydon Fraser is recognized on the Highly Cited Researchers™ list for the second consecutive year. His research encompasses energy conversion systems, including the characterization of spark ignition engine combustion, the integration of alternative fuels and powertrains into vehicles, and the application of the second law of thermodynamics to optimize complex thermodynamic systems. Fraser also mentors student design teams that develop hybrid electric vehicles, notably through his involvement in the EcoCAR EV Challenge, which supports the creation of the next-generation of battery-powered vehicles.

See who else made the list, including cross-appointed professor Dr. Michael Fowler, in Waterloo researchers rank among the most influential in the world in Waterloo News.
