MME undergrad shortlisted for the 2025 Brooke Owens Fellow for aerospace engineering

Congratulations to Shanaya Barretto for being selected to participate in the prestigious program – the Brooke Owens Fellowship! This achievement highlights Barretto’s accomplishments throughout her undergrad career, being named one of the recipients out of 400 promising candidates who applied globally. 

Throughout her undergrad year, Shanaya has maintained an excellent academic record while pursuing other projects that have sparked her interest in aerospace. She previously interned at Harvard University as an Embedded SWE and was team lead for the UW Orbital  for over two years. It is evident that Shanaya is an outstanding third year student with a strong interest in aerospace engineering, exemplary leadership and dedicated to her community. 

Based on these qualifications, she was selected to be one of the 44 undergraduate leaders to take part in the program. As a result, she will be granted an executive mentorship and a paid internship at Amazon Prime Air.
