Two MME Alumni receive honours at the Annual Engineering Awards Event
In cognizance for their contributions, Dr. Clovis Raimundo Maliska is awarded the Alumni Achievement Medal for Professional Achievement and Dr. Gamal Refai-Ahmed the Alumni Achievement Medal for Academic Excellence. Their work introduces improved technological advancements and revolutionary research, fostering innovation and transformative action that will continue to benefit their respective industries.
Dr. Clovis Raimundo is renowned for his work in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Originally from Brazil, he identified the lack of recognition for CFD and began laying the groundwork to popularize and enhance its functions through research, publications and entrepreneurship. As a result, his efforts granted him the rank of Commander in Brazil’s National Order of Scientific Merit.
Dr. Gamal Rafai-Ahmed is widely respected for his remarkable leadership in guiding the electronics, telecommunications and technological industries on a path of progress. Currently, as a fellow at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc., he is focused on improving computing processing power through thermal regulation. In addition, he is an author with a substantial number of publications and patents reaching over 120.
Both performed exemplary work, earning themselves a well-deserved medal of achievement, and the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering congratulates them on their success!
