The first Ninja Delivery store was set up on Sunview Street in Waterloo. Founded by Wesley Yue, a mechatronics engineering alumni, and fellow co-founders Michael Markevich and Gonzalo Graham. The company boasts a 10-minute courier service in Waterloo’s university district and has recently expanded to Toronto.
Early this month, the company announced that it has raised $2.8 million to expand.
“We delivered super quickly because it was so small and we were basically launching orders all the time. We found people loved the speed of service and at one point we were growing so fast that we couldn’t build our robots fast enough, so we decided that we should just purely focus on (delivery) due to the complexity of procuring inventory and general operations.” - Wesley Yue
