In this presentation, Dr. Naser Mehrabi demonstrated how MapleSim was used to create a musculoskeletal model of lower-extremities and a neuromuscular controller to simulate forward dynamics of cycling.
Jeffrey Azzolin, a University of Waterloo graduate, has created a startup company to make better skate blades.
The idea sparked in his fourth-year mechanical engineering design project. With the help of his supervisor, Professor John McPhee, the new blade design increases the acceleration, top speed and agility of the players by five per cent.
Brock Laschowski's research in Paralympic sports engineering and wheelchair biomechanics was featured in the Waterloo Engineering Alumni Letter (eWEAL). Brock is working in collaboration with Dr. Naser Mehrabi and Professor John McPhee.
