In this presentation, Dr. Naser Mehrabi demonstrated how MapleSim was used to create a musculoskeletal model of lower-extremities and a neuromuscular controller to simulate forward dynamics of cycling.
Jeffrey Azzolin, a University of Waterloo graduate, has created a startup company to make better skate blades.
The idea sparked in his fourth-year mechanical engineering design project. With the help of his supervisor, Professor John McPhee, the new blade design increases the acceleration, top speed and agility of the players by five per cent.
Brock's research in Paralympic sports engineering was featured in the latest electronic version of the Waterloo Engineering Alumni Letter (i.e., otherwise known as eWEAL). Brock is working alongside Dr. Naser Mehrabi and professor John McPhee.
