Brok Laschowski featured in keynote by NVIDIA President and CEO

Friday, April 16, 2021

Robotics research led by PhD student Brok Laschowski was featured by Jensen Huang, President and CEO of NVIDIA, during his keynote at the 2021 GPU Technology Conference (GTC). Inspired by the biological vision system, Laschowski is developing a vision-based environment-adaptive controller for robotic leg prostheses and exoskeletons powered by deep learning.

For more information, see his latest journal paper Environment Classification for Robotic Leg Prostheses and Exoskeletons Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks, published in the Frontiers in Neurorobotics.

This research is in collaboration with fellow PhD student William McNally and Dr. Alexander Wong, Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Medical Imaging, and supervised by Dr. John McPhee, Canada Research Chair in Biomechatronic System Dynamics.
