Noon Hour Concert: Canadian Female Composers in Life, Love, and Misery

Mezzo-soprano Caroline Schmidt will perform songs by Canadian women composers, accompanied by pianist Christine Klaver-Schmidt. These works delve into a variety of aspects of life through song: the beauty of nature and love, but also the pain that makes all of our lives bittersweet.

Noon Hour Concert: The Place Where the Creator Rests

Andromeda Trio was recently awarded grants from Canada Council for the Arts and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund to commission, workshop and record a piece by Canadian composer, Karen Sunabacka, which will explore Métis-Mennonite relations in Canada, which reflects the ancestries of our ensemble.

Grebel Alumni Picnic

Grebel alumni are invited to return to Grebel for a celebratory picnic, marking 60 years since the College first opened its doors. Enjoy family-friendly activities, tours, a hymn sing, re-connecting with professors, exhibits highlighting Grebel's past and present, and a picnic dinner. Don't forget the Ultimate Frisbee tournament! The activities are free to attend, but if you want to stay for supper, you will need to purchase a meal ticket in advance (by September 1). Noon Hour Concert: Women in Song -postponed till November 15

Soprano Rebecca McKay and pianist Jodie Van der Heide will present a selection of pieces by women composers. Some are well known such as Alma Mahler and other composers not so much, namely Katerina Gimon.  However, all will be delightful pieces.
